I’m so excited to reveal the cover of my soon to be released novella, “The Blueberry Swirl Waltz.” My readers often ask me how a cover is created. Once the book is done, the author fills out a questionnaire for the cover artist at the publishing house which gives some details about the setting, what the characters look like, the mood of the story, and the era. The author is also asked about her vision for the cover.
This book is considered historical because it takes place over 50 years ago, yet I didn’t want a typically historical cover. I searched hundreds of stock photos of ballroom dancers trying to come up with something that would work for my story. When I saw silhouettes of dancers, I knew that’s what I wanted. I asked my cover artist to show two people waltzing in silhouette and I wanted a dark blue starry night to bring in the blueberry swirl aspect. This is my cover and I love it!
While the release date for this book is June 1st, it is available for pre-sale at Amazon, BarnesandNoble.com, and Apple Books.
